开元十年（722）九月，吐蕃围小勃律，其王没谨忙求救于唐。北庭节度使张孝嵩遣之率蕃、汉马步四千人赴援，昼夜兼进。没谨忙以兵应之，左、右夹攻，吐蕃大败，尽复九城故地。
